All Hail The Queen! Oprah Winfrey Will Be The First Black Woman To Receive The Cecil B. DeMille Award

Oprah Winfrey has been a post of the party attention for decades. She has been known as the “Queen of Daytime Talk” and the “Queen of Media.”

Winfrey’s ventures embody being speak show host, journalist, author, actress, philanthropist, and producer. It has been announced the Winfrey will be the target of the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the 2018 Golden Globe Awards. The proclamation was done by actor Morgan Freeman on Wednesday, Dec. 13 for the Hollywood Foreign Press Association on NBC. The respect is bestowed on people who have an implausible impact in the party industry.

“As a global media leader, philanthropist, writer and actress, she has combined an forlorn tie with people around the world, making her one of the many reputable and dignified total today,” Meher Tatna, President of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, stated.

Meher added that this endowment is well-deserved, quite during the 75th anniversary of the Golden Globes.

Others who have been given this endowment embody Denzel Washington, Jodie Foster, Barbara Streisand, Sidney Poitier, Michael Douglas, Harrison Ford, Robert De Niro, Lucille Ball, Audrey Hepburn, and the late Robin Williams.

In further to being the first African-American lady to accept this award, Winfrey is the fourth Black actor to ever be given this award.

The 75th annual Golden Globes will take place on Jan. 7, 2018 at 8 p.m. on NBC.
