It’s good news for zombie fans as AMC have announced they’ve renewed The Walking Dead for a ninth season.
The series will take on a new showrunner as Scott Gimple stairs down from the role and moves on to be Chief Content Officer for the Walking Dead universe, including Fear the Walking Dead.
Angela Kang, who has been a author with the show given 2011, will mount as showrunner in his place and pronounced in a matter her fangirl dream has come true.
She said: ‘I am over anxious to be stepping into this new role with The Walking Dead.
‘Working on this series and having the event to adjust Robert Kirkman’s extraordinary comic has been a fangirl dream come loyal for me.’
Season eight started with the 100th part and saw its All Out War story come to a thespian climax.
Now deteriorate nine will kick off with part 116, and will watch Rick Grimes and his group battle it out with the Saviors.
A premiere date for deteriorate 9 is many likely to be suggested in Jul at the San Diego Comic Con, along with a trailer.
Charlie Collier, boss of AMC, SundanceTV and AMC Studios, betrothed to dream bigger and more broadly than ever before with the new season.
He said: ‘This is an enormously critical day for the whole ‘The Walking Dead’ radio universe.
‘We are unapproachable to acknowledge Angela’s poignant grant to the series and to set a transparent trail brazen for a ninth deteriorate under her direction.
‘Further, with thankfulness and admiration, we also commend Scott’s extended impact on, and care of, the calm that fuels the TWD universe.’
The Walking Dead earnings on Feb 25 in the US, and front on Fox Feb 26 in the UK at 9pm.
