Man, 88, hits wife of 60 years in the conduct with a hammer

An 88-year-old has been charged with attempted murder after he hit his wife in the conduct with a produce in a New York nursing home, police said.

Martin Turkiewicz is accused of walking into the Garden Gate Health Care Facility in Cheektowaga, N.Y., on Saturday and aggressive Rita Turkiewicz, his wife of 60 years.

Rita Turkiewicz, 86, who was a proprietor seeking earthy rehab at the facility, was hospitalized with serious conduct injuries, police said.

After the attack, Martin Turkiewicz walked to the front table of the trickery and reported what happened, police said. He was not a proprietor at the facility, Buffalo News reported.

The ground stays misleading and the 88-year-old, who has been charged with second-degree attempted murder and first-degree assault, pleaded not guilty.

He is being held but bail at the Erie County Holding Center and is due back in justice on Wednesday.
