Son of Bronx murder-suicide victim narrowly missed gunman

Richie Cicardo owes his life to a hunt for headphones.

The 24-year-old left his mom Susan Trivino’s unit to find a span Wednesday afternoon — and returned mins after to learn her and his sister shot to death in a Bronx bloodbath.

Cicardo “had left to go downstairs to get a span of headphones,” pronounced NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce. “At which time when he came back, he found both (women) had been shot.”

Susan Trivino, 54, and her daughter Suchari Guzman, 29, were gunned down by the mom’s jilted boyfriend Jorge Vega, who botched a self-murder try after executing the two women.

“Right now, he’s still alive,” pronounced Boyce of the killer. “We don’t consider he’s going to make it. He shot himself in the head.”

Vega, 52, is a former Metropolitan Transportation Authority train motorist who recently left his pursuit and was dumped by Trivino one day before the killing, pronounced Boyce.

A tears Cicardo, after anticipating his mom and sister shot to death, carried his 1-year-old niece Abbygail to reserve in a circuitously unit and then called 911.
