The Apple HomePod went on sale on Feb 9, and is Apple’s first rival to the hugely renouned Amazon Echo.

The HomePod responds to voice commands, and uses Siri – the same program that’s on your iPhone – to answer your questions, control your smart home, or help you with daily tasks.

But nonetheless the HomePod is being praised for its top-notch sound, it’s being widely criticised over the bad opening of Siri.

Earlier this week, we reported on a new study by Loup Ventures that found Apple’s Siri was nowhere nearby as smart as rivals Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

In a test, Apple’s HomePod got 47% of questions it was asked wrong, highlighting some pivotal issues with Siri as a digital assistant.

By comparison, Amazon’s Alexa got 64% correct, while the Google Assistant stormed forward with an 81% score.

The orator has also been bloody for its miss of Spotify support, and the fact that you can’t span two HomePods together in a stereo configuration.

Not everybody agrees, mind – a name few users have shielded Apple’s HomePod.

The Apple HomePod also costs significantly some-more than its biggest rivals, pricing in at £319.

For contrast, the Google Home costs just £129, and Amazon’s 2nd-generation Echo is even cheaper at £89.99.

That said, many users seem to trust that the HomePod is worth the cost for the sound alone, contrast the audio peculiarity to a reward Sonos speaker.

But the jury is still out on either Apple will be means to change adequate HomePods – given its singular AI functionality and high cost – to contest with Amazon and Google.
