Death fee rises at nursing home where Irma knocked out power

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. — Police contend an 11th studious has died after being taken from an overheated Florida nursing home that lost its air conditioning during Hurricane Irma. 

Hollywood police pronounced Friday that 94-year-old Alice Thomas died Thursday and that they are treating it as partial of their rapist review of the Rehabilitation Center at Hollywood Hills and its employees.

Eight patients died on Sept. 13, 3 days after Irma knocked out the home’s air conditioning. Three have died this week. Overall, 145 patients were taken from the home.

The passed have ranged from 78 to 99 years old.  The state pronounced 4 of the defunct had physique temperatures between 107 and 109 degrees. 

No one has been charged.

The state has dangling the home’s license. The home has filed a lawsuit trying to overturn the state’s actions. 

The medical investigator told CBS Miami the autopsies of 10 nursing home patients are complete.  The results have not been expelled yet.
