CARTERSVILLE, Ga. — A judge says a Georgia lady charged with transgression murder in the death of her 3-year-old son left him unsupervised for some-more than 14 hours before he drowned in an above belligerent swimming pool on Memorial Day.
News outlets report that the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office says 32-year-old Bobbie Jessica Prather was denied bond at her justice coming Wednesday. Prather was arrested Monday about 5 hours after her son was found.
Sgt. Jonathan Rogers says 3 other children in the home – the boy’s four-year-old hermit and 18-month-old twin boys — were taken into protecting custody.
Prather is charged with transgression murder and 4 depends of first-degree cruelty to children, one charge for any child left alone.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports a emissary pulled the child from the pool, but the child was unconscious. Neighbors told CBS associate WGCL they listened screams and saw the boy’s routine body, and called 911.
EMS executive Brad Cothran says the child was under water too prolonged to be resuscitated.
The father of the child was also arrested on warrants separate to the case, reports WGCL. Investigators have not ruled out charging him in his son’s death.
