LOS ANGELES — A Mexican soap star slapped a contributor on the red runner when the actor took displeasure to a doubt about his son.
CBS Los Angeles spoke to another party contributor who was on the red carpet, who pronounced the actor — telenovela star Eduardo Yanez — has a repute for mostly being angry with reporters.
He and the contributor — Paco Fuentes — were quipping and joking moments before the slap. The actor seemed to spin on a dime.
The slap happened in Hollywood on Tuesday evening.
The contributor asked the actor because the actor’s son had set up a GoFundMe page to compensate for a automobile he had crashed instead of asking his father for the money.
That doubt clearly set the actor off.
He said, in Spanish, “If you’re so worried about my son, you send him the income or go speak to him.”
Fuentes replied that the people, the assembly cared, and he was just the messenger.
Yanez told him that that was a distortion — he was the one trying to make a big understanding out of it. Yanez accused Fuentes of being disrespectful.
Fuente pronounced he wasn’t trying to be unpleasant — and Yanez slapped him hard. The slap is going viral.
Lupita Herrera was on the red carpet.
“I was in shock,” she said, “I didn’t know what to do.”
She pronounced she spoke to Yanez immediately before Fuentes and she asked the same doubt about his son.
Herrera says he got angry with her doubt as well, but couldn’t trust he slapped Fuentes.
“In my opinion,” she said, “Fuentes was just doing his job. And Eduardo needs anger management.”
CBS Los Angeles reached out for a criticism from Yanez and Fuentes and has not listened back at press time.
It was also different if any charges were filed or are pending.
