Dylan Farrow, the adoptive daughter of Mia Farrow, is speaking out about her knowledge with passionate abuse, but this isn’t the first time she told her story.
Farrow has prolonged claimed that her adoptive father, famed author and executive Woody Allen, abused her when she was 7 years old. Farrow sensitive her mom of the occurrence in 1992 and Allen denied these allegations. Because the judge could not find any justification to support Farrow’s claim, the case was forsaken and lost until 2014 when Farrow had an essay published in the New York Times by her Nicholas Kristof.
Now, in the midst of the Weinstein allegations, Farrow is once again adhering to her story and degrading Hollywood for unaware Allen but condemning Harvey Weinstein.
Farrow vs. Allen
In an op-ed piece for the LA Times, Farrow is doubt because the trending movement, ‘me too’ is clearly unaware Allen who she has accused of passionate bungle for decades. Farrow states that the control case against Allen and his ‘inappropriate behavior’ that went on for years were not given adequate recognition.
“We are in the midst of a revolution. From allegations against studio heads and journalists, to hotel maids recounting abuses on the job, women are exposing the law and men are losing their jobs. But the series has been selective,” Farrow writes.
Farrow alleges that while there has been much swell done with certain men being penalized for their actions, her step-father is still a free man. Farrow called out actresses Blake Lively, Kate Winslet, and Greta Gerwig, who have publicly distanced themselves from Weinstein but continue to work closely with Allen.
“Although the enlightenment seems to be changeable rapidly, my claim is apparently still just too complicated, too difficult, too ‘dangerous,’ to use Lively’s term, to confront. … The law is tough to repudiate but easy to ignore. It breaks my heart when women and men we admire work with Allen, then exclude to answer questions about it,” she continued.
This isn’t the first time Allen has come under fire. The filmmaker perceived recoil for enchanting in a attribute with his other adoptive daughter, Soon-Yi Previn. Previn, who eventually married, Allen is disloyal from her mother, Mia, due to the controversial relationship.
Farrow finished her piece by stating that the “system” worked for Weinstein, and it still works for Allen as well.
