During Monday Night Football’s halftime show, Disney suggested the new trailer for “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.”
The action-packed, two-minute clip teases an doubtful partnership between Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver).
“I need someone to show me my place in all this,” she says.
The trailer also facilities Rey returning a lightsaber to Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and a glimpse at Carrie Fisher’s General Leia.
“I’ve seen this tender strength only once before,” Luke says. “It didn’t shock me adequate then. It does now.”
The second film in the supplement trilogy picks up after “The Force Awakens,” when Rey found a now-old Luke Skywalker on Ahch-To.
At a fan gathering before her death last year, Carrie Fisher pronounced that the film will also embody a wake for Han Solo (Harrison Ford), who was killed by son Kylo Ren in “The Force Awakens.
Lucasfilm also suggested a print for the film late Monday, which focuses prominently on Skywalker.
The hooded Jedi, cloaked in red, hovers above Rey, Kylo Ren, Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac), Finn (John Boyega) and General Leia.
Despite the puzzling title, executive Rian Johnson reliable in Sep that the last Jedi is accurately who fans thought: Luke Skywalker.
“It’s in the opening yield of ‘The Force Awakens.’ Luke Skywalker, right now, is the last Jedi,” Johnson told the New York Times.
“There’s always shake room in these cinema — all is from a certain indicate of perspective — but coming into the story, he is the tangible last of the Jedi. And he’s private himself and is alone on this island, for reasons unknown.”
“Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” which also stars Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie and Andy Serkis, hits theaters Dec. 15.
