TUCSON — On Dec 23, 2017, around 4:30 a.m., officers from Operations Division South and members of the Tucson Fire Department (TFD) responded to a report of an unconscious profound womanlike in a chateau located within the 1500 retard of West Calle Guadalajara. Upon arrival, officers celebrated the victim with apparent gunshot trauma. TFD crew rendered assist and ecstatic her to a local-area hospital. Shortly after arrival, she was sadly conspicuous deceased. She has been identified as 19-year-old Jasmine Vega. Next of family has been notified.
Vega was approximately 6 months pregnant. Hospital staff were means to successfully broach her unborn child, who is now being treated at the hospital.
Detectives with the Tucson Police Department’s Gang Unit responded to continue the investigation. They were means to establish that Vega, along with several other people, were defunct inside the chateau at the time of the incident. Others were awoken to Vega screaming and she after became unresponsive. They called 911 and when officers arrived on-scene, they celebrated several missile holes in the walls of the residence. Additional justification indicated that mixed shots were fired towards the chateau from the exterior. Detectives are questioning either the gunfire targeted specific people inside the residence. The other occupants were not harmed in the incident.
At this time, there are no suspects in custody.
